FYI: The ABC show that my big sister is referring to was cancelled before it ever aired because two gay guys won the prize, based on surrounding neighbors who CHOSE which couple should win.
ABC copped out big time and once again showed us that, given a choice, reasonable people don't give a shit if their neighbors are a loving gay couple.
Hope you'll return to my comments and write us up a little update on your dinner, sis.
And LuLu, right back atcha, baby.

I think ABC loved the controversy during the show. What they couldn't handle was that two gay men and their adopted, special needs son won the house based on people who actually chose them out of all the contestants to be their neighbors.
They had a chance to advance the cause of civil decency and human rights and they took the low road so's not to offend the Jesus neo-con set.

I think I read that too- maybe Planetout has something in their archives about it.

I'm thankful for Karen Zipdrive and "Pulp Friction" for making me laugh when I needed one and reassuring me that I'm not alone in my anger sometimes. There for a while, I often wondered if I needed therapy for my seemingly constant outrage over current affairs and the endless ignorance of this administration. Karen helped me see that I'm not quite as alone as I felt I was, and I'm thankful for all of you too, her readers. You've brightened many a gloomy day, and made my soul feel lighter. I wish you all the very best this season!

Penny P, thank you for those kind remarks. Sometimes, like you, it does feel like I'm alone in my political anger, and I start to wonder if this Blog even matters. Your comments were rejuvenating.
I too am constantly outraged by the Bush administration, but the rage feels more like a steady, white-hot flame than an inferno.
All we can do is continue to expose, question, contact our legislators and vote, vote, vote.
Once politicians realize this radical rightwing fundamentalist zealotry is no longer acceptable, they will either reinvent themselves to serve us better, or they can go fuck themselves.

Belatedly, with respect, Mz K...and in no particular order, I'm ADD like that...chuckle...

1.)Left Wing Nuts, without whom I'd surely be tried for high crimes and treason...

2.)Music (Specifically these days: The Good Ol' Grateful Dead, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Low, and Coldplay) without which I would surely go insane...

3.)My lovely partner Tamara, with whom I have found reason, sanity, companionship, family, and love.

4.)Love and compassion

5.)The impending downfall of the fascist regime under whose thumb we now are oppressed (though I cringe at the thought of the fallout from their demise)

6.)food...and lots of it.

7.)my health, and the health of my growing family.

8.)my friends, who have supported and sustained me...

9.)the impending snow...through I shall trod and in which I shall play this winter.

10.)my job, and everyone I work with.

11.)Lake Superior (Gitchee Gummee), my muse, which inspires my imagination.

12.)Life, in general.

thar ya be, insomuch as I can conjure...

I'm thankful for a warm home, big windows to watch the snow coming down, candles, incense, a fireplace, my doggies, my guitar, Janis Joplin and other CDs of good screaming music, and Pulp Friction.

I know I am late with my thanks but here they are in no order other than my brains train of thought at 4am:

My feral kittens all of whom are more affectionate than domestic cats..they dont seem to outgrow it.

My friend Karen Zipdrive who opened my eyes to blogging the world of politics and that it can be funny, enlightening and it relieves a whole lotta stress about our current administration of fucktards.

All the folks I have come to know and love thru blogging. Even if I never meet them, they are important to me and teach me something every day.

The fact that I live in a country that allows me to voice my views which are always contrary to those of our current administration(and I dont have to fear retribution).

My son who two years ago on Thanksgiving I was driving to Arizona to pick up along with the pieces of his shattered life. He is a fine upstanding citizen now and amazes me with his knowledge, insight and intelligence.

Hope you and everyone else that frequents this fine blog had a good Turkey day KZ. You are the queen. Long live the queen!
