Sicko

Eclair and I went to see Michael Moore's latest documentary "Sicko" today.
Without his usual side order of snide silliness and gratuitous jabs at that idiot Bush and Dastardly Dick, Moore managed to get across the point that, thanks to intensive lobbying efforts by huge insurance and pharmaceutical companies, America's health care is behind that of Canada, England, France and even Cuba.
Go see the movie and decide for yourself if health care in America needs a drastic overhaul.
See if you can tell me why the same exact inhaler that helps bring respiratory relief costs $120 in America and about a nickel in Cuba.
See for yourself how a government-paid, general practice physician in Paris can still afford to live in a million dollar home and drive the same kind of top of the line car a physician here can afford.
Sicko transcends political lines.
It's about how American insurance and pharmaceutical companies have fucked us, fuck us and will continue to fuck us.
Gee, I wonder if hatred toward those robber barons constitutes a pre-existing condition?

You bet it does. And it's very stressful, too. I am hoping for a different administration so that I won't be quite as crabby as I am now, since being crabby is harder on me than it is on other people (since I'm so sweet and all...)

Crabby is not insurable.
Better sweeten up, Lulu.

Insurance companies were fucking everyone, including those dim-witted, greedy, physicians who think the ins people are on their side, long before either Bush came along.

Don't get me started on insurance companies.

Most doctors I know hate insurance companies. It's the doctors' relationship with pharmaceutical companies that worries me.
