Another One Squeals Like a Pig

It seems in advance of his book slated to hit the stands in April '08, former Bush SpokesLiar Scott McClellan has leaked a few excerpts. Turns out that Bush, Cheney, Rove and Scooter lied to him and claimed they had nothing to do with the outing of covert CIA Agent Valerie Plame.
Scotty believed them and went forth spewing those lies on their behalf to the unwitting Whitehouse Press Corps.
I wonder if Scotty thinks by saying he was lied to, it will somehow indemnify him against perjury charges after Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald grilled him?
I wonder if this will re-open the investigation and McClellan's modified testimony will seal the deal on Bush, Cheney and Rove?
Before he became president, George Herbert Walker Bush was the CIA Director. When he "served" in that capacity, he said publicly that the outing of a CIA Agent was tantamount to treason.
He was right. Without protecting our nation's CIA agents, our international spy network is compromised.
Valerie Plame's cover was blown and any CIA agent who was associated with her had their cover blown, too.
Treason occurred, and Bush, Cheney and Rove intentionally committed it.

Meanwhile, McClellan either unwittingly lied then, intentionally lied then, or he's lying now. Or just maybe...he's telling the truth now. It's hard to say which BushCo scumbags are honest and which are not. Anyone who'd work for Bush has to be at least a shady character, including McClellan. But he might be telling the truth.

If he is, and let's hope he is, a new Special Prosecutor should be appointed immediately. Bush, Dick and Rove should submit to polygraph testing. If they refuse, that's a telling enough sign to start immediate impeachment proceedings.
Once that's accomplished, they should be tried in court as traitors.

And if the penalty for treason is death, then so be it.

There is a solution to this road block on impeachment: There's an effort underway, which one candiate supports, of removing Pelosi as Speaker, to make way for impeachment. ( More: Copy of proclamation, precedents for speaker removal )

I like Pelosi a lot, but if losing her meant the launch of full-on, no-holds-barred impeachment hearings, I say, "Sayonara, Nancy."

Note to Anonymous: I looked at that link and I have to say it's a pretty obscure blog making points about the ideas of a pretty obscure New Mexico Congress Rep. and his plans for Pelosi.
I somehow doubt this story will have legs- but I hope I am wrong.

What an industry Bush has created in the Actual Private Sector (as opposed to the government-paid contractors who are sucking up our present and future tax dollars--): that's the Bush industry: of books about his corrupt and/or idiotic decision making; of timepices consecrated to tracking his dwindling days in office; of media replaying his Greatest Hits in Quotation Land (admittedly a long-standing part of the marketplace for all presidents, but conflated almost beyond recognition with this president; of tee shirts that get their wearers booted off planes, etc.,etc., etc., ad nauseum ... or is it nauseam?

In any case, stimulating the marketplace!

My boss is sick of buying books on this sorry administration, but what can we do? We're putty in their pasty paws.

Pelosi and Hoyer were in fact totally responsible for blocking Kucinich's motion to impeach Cheney. Zip, you may recall watching that whole ugly mess on tv??

I hope there was a very good reason, but I can't imagine what reason would trump impeachment of one or all of the Bush criminals.

As to Scotty's book - don't fustrate yourself hoping this will be what finally topples Bush or his stooges. In fact, I'll bet next we'll get some gay pix or written dirt re Scotty's alternate lifestyle, which of course will permanently ruin his cridibility.

We just need to let these snakes slither out of office and focus our energy on getting our own criminals in office. Because they're all criminals in some way, we just want our own, that's all.

Oh, and Patrick Fitzgeral, please, I trust him like I trust General Petreus.

I just realized that slugger Barry Bonds was charged with exactly the same thing as Scooter. Bush said he was disappointed in Bonds. I wonder if he'll commute Bonds' sentence too?

I think Fitzgerald did what he could, but when the people you're investigating all commit perjury, it's pretty hard to find a loose corner to pry up and get under.

I think your last comment says it all, Zip. None of these BushCo stooges would tell the truth if their lives depended on it. They have zero credibility, so there's not even any reason to launch a gay/porn/toe-tapping campaign against any of them. Scotty will just fade into insignifance, while making millions--like they all do.
