I've Had It
As a writer, my clients usually like it when I spell everything correctly.
As an Internet addict, I run across frequent instances of bad spelling, and it drives me to distraction.
I too make common mistakes on some of the words below, and rely on spell check to keep me sounding semi-literate.
Here's a handy list of common words we Internetistas frequently spell wrong.

Who the hell spells vacuum on a blog. Blogging is what one does when one is avoiding vacuuming.

How funny - I am watching the first-time nationally televised Spelling Bee right now - what a hoot - and here is your spelling post.

not a spelling error - but "irregardless" drives me crazy - as does "supposebly"
i disagree, lulu - karen is saying they like when she spells "everything" correctly... as opposed to spelling it "everrything"
Lulu- perhaps I just did that to see if everyone was paying attention...
or maybe grammar never was my long suit.

Mike, I hate the word irregardless as much as I hate to read the words 'utilize'in place of 'use' and 'invaluable' in place of "priceless."

I always have to look up sheriff to see if there are 2 R's or 2 F's. And I have this really bad habit of spelling mirror "mirrow" and I have to change it. The its/it's and they're/their/there bug me the most.
Oh and when people say "and I" because they think it's correct instead of saying "and me."
As long as we are talking about works, can we please have a moratorium on "alls" and "anyways"? Before I go completely insane?

I know..its too late by then, but I live dangerously,what can I say?
It's not an incorrect spelling, but it has bothered me for years when I have heard people say 'impacted' to mean 'to have an impact on.'
As for incorrect spellings, I use 'gonna' instead of 'going to' with great relish and abandon. :)
I'm a pretty good speller, but I type lots of extra letters, since I never took typing. I used to start all sorts of words with involuntary o's, which gave everything a sort of singing syllable effect.
I always pause before "a lot" and lately have been typing it correctly. But, there was a time when I would have sworn by "alot".
"Definitely" is a word I see misspelled constantly. Drives me bonkers.
And random, strangely-placed apostrophes. What's up with that?
Spelling errors drive me nuts! I think I am a proficient speller but I still use WordWeb when I have any doubt.
The beginning of the list - a lot - is beyond annoying. 'A lot' is usually not the best choice grammatically, and then to have it misspelled adds insult to injury!
