Christmas Loot
Well, I did just fine in the Christmas loot department.
I got cash and two gift cards to the Homo Depot. I'm about to remodel my house, so that'll come in very handy.
I went to Homo Depot online and the selection was so vast I became overwhelmed and logged off.
What would you get if you had $70 worth of HD gift cards?
So far, I've decided on a laser level/stud finder.

Excellent choice! As a Home Despot employee, I can tell you that your stud finder will bring you many happy hours of stud finding. In order to get the most from your gift choice, I suggest that you locate every stud in your house. You may want to add a little blue masking tape from our paint department to mark said studs... it could be the New Look for '06! Hotter than distressed paint!
And thanking you for finding your stud finder at Home Depot!
i think my wife has a stud finder...
*grin*
In my youth, I coulda used of them laser-eyed stud finders, but now I just thunk 'em in the forehead to see if there's anything solid behind the paint.
My walls are pocked with trials. Isn't there supposed to be some standard measurement between studs? Apparently my house was framed by beavers or squirrels.
Now, if only they sold a beaver finder...
Belt sander, jig saw, a new tape measure and a really good level.
Karen -- YOU'RE the beaver finder. ;)
I used to have a belt sander..i used the hell out of it..no piece of furniture was safe..
You know, now that I think about it, a palm sander would be much better than a belt sander; easier to handle and able to be utilized in much smaller spaces. Change my vote, please.
I may get one of those 3-in-1 sanders with the pointy tip. I hate changing the paper though- and I go through it about one sheet per minute with a palm sander.
Decisions, decisions.
I'm assuming you already have a cordless power drill/screwdriver with a shitload of bits... a true essential. I just used mine tonight. Made me feel sooo butch!
Actually, now that I think of it, I burnt out my beloved cordless screwdriver and I do not have a cordless drill.
I think perhaps you have, uhh, nailed the perfect tool to buy.
A cordless screwdriver/drill.
Yes!
What model and brand shall I get? I want a good one that stays charged for lots and lots of screwing and drilling.
Once I get started, I hate to stop, you know?
And you are so not butch- doesn't matter what tool you have strapped to your toolbelt.
