Why the Union Strikers in NYC Need to Get a Grip
A friend from NYC called me last night-- that is, a pro union, liberal left-wing friend-- who said the metro strikers already get to retire at age 55 with a pension that amounts to 100 percent of their pre-retirement salaries.
They are striking because, among other reasons, they want the retirement age to be lowered to age 50, with the same 100 percent pension benefits. Please.
If they got back to work, someone could throw Ann Coulter onto a hot subway track just in time for Christmas.

An MSNBC poll with more than 85,000 responses so far says that 86 percent of those polled believe that Bush's actions justify impeachment.

What I heard was that the new hires will have to retire at 65(which is normal btw) but also contribute to their retirement fund from age 55 to 65. current employees can retire at 55 and do NOT contribute to their retirement fund.Big biz has been pulling this new hire crap for the last few years as witnessed by the grocery workers strike here in Cali last year..they cant screw the current employees so they are going after all new ones hired under the new contract.

I heard on NPR that the big issue was younger workers having to pay THREE TIMES the amount of older workers into the pension fund. The strike, though short, got that off the table.

I want him Impeached.I want him to wallow in the mire and all his cronies to do the same. I want idiots that re=elected that sumbitch to wake the fuck up and realize what they got us into..
