Why the Long Face?

Oh, no. John Kerry wants to run again for the presidency.
I voted for him once but I won't do it again.
I think he had good ideas but he couldn't articulate them.
He let Karl Rove and the Swift Bloat phonies bully him.
Wrong man, wrong time.
Sorry Kerry, you had your shot.
What do you think?

Ditto!

We need some new blood in there -- new blood that isn't afraid to shake things up and kick some ass.

You're right. Kerry doesn't have broad enough appeal. And he and his team stayed back in Viet Nam, even though a significant percentage of voters was too young to know anything about that war. He missed so many opportunities to call the administration on its bullshit, and he nearly gagged on his own toes again and again.

He drove me nuts, even though I had to vote for him.

It ain't going to be Kerry; it can't be Clinton; I loved Howard, but he couldn't taper his message to something digestable. We can lionize Murtha for his present position, but he won't hold up well under scrutiny (not for our views, anyway...)

I dont have a clue who it should be..which bothers me a great deal. I want a candidate that can verbalize what is wrong with the current administration and all of those attached to it. I want a candidate that can galvanize the general population without losing his self-respect and promising bullshit to the masses just to get their vote. I want a Clinton-esque personality who is not afraid of the right wing bible thumping morons and will expose them for what they are..racists and homophobes. He or She better start running now and standing tall above the crowd, its going to be a very crowded field since everyone and their friggin mother will be trying to take down the Rupubs and their rich, crooked cronies.

This wont make me any friends but I want someone like Gore, not necessarily him mind you... He is an intelligent individual that I have heard speak on several occasions on global warming and its consequences. He wasn't his usual stiff robot-like self when speaking about this problem, it seems if he is truely interested in something he finds his soul and a becomes totally different persona.

Here's what Tim Russert hhad to say about Russ Finegold:

RUSSERT: It is interesting, Americans seem to like governors as presidents. If you look back at -- through our history, the last two Democrats, [Bill] Clinton and [Jimmy] Carter, [George W.] Bush, [Ronald] Reagan. It's quite interesting. Picking up on Bill and Gene's theme, though, Jon and Doris, Russ Feingold is really positioning himself to the left of [Sen.] Hillary Clinton [D-NY], opposing the Patriot Act, opposing the war, coming out foursquare on the eavesdropping, really trying to position himself in a way where he can say to a lot of liberal groups, "Hey, I am very authentic and real on the issues that matter to you."

Jack Abramoff finally plead guilty and Talk Left has all the docs and links to them.

Abramoff's gonna sing like a bird and fuck up a lot of Repugnicans in the process.
I say bring it on, Jack.

I'll vote for ANY-GODDAM-BODY who isn't a Repube.

I hate doing it, because I USED to be an issue voter. But I have such a bad taste in my mouth from the crap the Repubes have forced down my throat, that I am going to just vote a straight anti-Repube ticket!

So even if Marilyn Manson was to get the Democratic nomination and Hannibal Lecter was his running mate, they'd still get my vote.

JB, I totally agree.
Not that I ever vote for Repugnicans, but this year when I vote a straight Democratic ticket I plan to mark the ballot with GUSTO.

Diebold helped Kerry lose.
That Kerry let it happen without making a stink proves he's a loser.
He should have made a statement that left no doubt that Diebold was in cahoots with Bush and demanded an investigation.
He swiftboated himself by staying polite and civil in defeat.
Chump.
