Rumsfeld Planning 9-11 Party/Country Music Concert
For many, the upcoming September 11th anniversary will be a time for somber reflection. Apparently not for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
This week, he announced the Pentagon will hold a massive march and country music concert to mark the fourth anniversary of 9/11.
Rumsfeld is calling the event the "America Supports You Freedom Walk." The march will start at the Pentagon and end at the National Mall with a show by country star Clint Black.
Black is the man behind the song "I Raq and Roll," a song that conflates Saddam Hussein with "the devil" who attacked the United States on 9/11.
One verse of the song goes, "We can't ignore the devil, he'll keep coming back for more ... If they won't show us their weapons, we might have to show them ours. It might be a smart bomb -- they find stupid people, too. And if you stand with the likes of Saddam, one just might find you."
The announcement of this 9/11 celebration and concert outraged victim's family groups and veterans organizations.
Can Rummy possibly be this blasé and insensitive?
Hell, yes, he can.
He's a Bush administration member- and just as worthless as the rest of those imbeciles.

History won't judge us harshly Mike, history will judge Bush, his cronies and the imbeciles who either voted to put him in office, or people like Jeb Bush, Katherine Harris and the Diebold Company who cheated to put him in office.
These people are amoral, and hiding behind Jesus's skirts makes them worse than amoral- it makes them evil.
Well, in Texas where we are pretty much ass deep in country music, we haven't heard much from squinty eyed Clint Black in a while.
Whenever a country star's popularity starts to decline, it's usually time for them to record a song about xenophobia, kicking someone's ass or loving America.
Clint Black is old school. He needed to pawn his soul for a hit. So he did.

The trouble with country singers like Black is they have no trouble acting macho and tough when they write tripe like this safely behind the gates of their mansions.
Lyrics like these appeal to blue collar, uneducated types who think they must engage in war to become men (and women). They actually think killing and war lead to peace.
Lyrics like this encourage hatred and further isolate America from the rest of the world.
Black even implies in his lyrics that our troops are adequately equipped to fight this war in Iraq. He's wrong.

Reminds me of how, after 9/11, I kept hearing Bruce Springsteen's "Born In the USA" played on the radio as a call to patriotism.
If the idiots who played the song on the radio would have just listened to the lyrics, they'd have realized it's a acathing commentary on how America treats its vets and lower class citizens.
And I'm sure they wouldn't have been playing it at that point in time.
An I gonna party with Rummy? Yeah; in '06, when the Repubes lose their monopoly on our country. Except he'll be drowning his sorrows and I'll be celebrating the return to democracy.

I recall once when Ronald Reagan quoted a Bruce Springsteen lyric to illustrate a point he was trying to make.
Springsteen's reps called the White House and demanded that Reagan stop quoting his lyrics for any reason.
When I was 14 or 15, I worked in a shitkicker steak house in Helotes, Texas. I used to play the Flying Burrito Brothers on the company's 8-track.
It was all anti war stuff, but the kickers eating their 42 ounce slabs o' beef didn't notice the lyrics, they just loved that good old country twang.
Dimwits.
Having been to Brooke Army Medical Center recently, the assortment of young men and women maimed and disfigured for life because of Bush's war is absolutely astounding.
I try to talk to as many as I can and believe me, when I ask how they feel about Iraq, most are pissed off at Bush and think they got rooked.
They think he'll try to reduce their veterans' benefits.
I think they're right to worry.
The entire bunch of them make me sick.
Now, I can add Clint Black to the list of people I'm completely disappointed in. Shame on him for draping himself in the flag [while dipping it in hate] and pretending he knows anything about being a soldier -- whether during peacetime or war.
Rummy may have to charge a cover for his 9/11 celebration. Those Repugnicans are starting to need the dough for upcoming legal defense(s).
