Rep. Waxman and Leader Pelosi Introduce Anti-Cronyism Bill
Tuesday, September 27, 2005 -- Rep. Henry A. Waxman and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi introduce the Anti-Cronyism and Public Safety Act, which would prohibit the President from appointing unqualified individuals to critical public safety positions in the government..."
Finally, the Democrats are starting to call for some Bush accountability.
Can you imagine having the need to introduce such a bill?
What an embarrassing time to be an American.

I honestly thought it was an Onion article... it's absolutely hysterical that they have to do that. How much you want to bet that they Repug-majority Congress stuffs it under the rug?
With that criminal bastard Tom DeLay facing felony charges, the wise GOP members will start sacrificing some lambs and making some deals.
They better vote for the anti-crony bill or they'll seem as slimy as that former bug killer DeLay.
A MAJOR GOP PLAYER WENT DOWN TODAY- OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM WORKS!
thank god DeLay was indicted..its about time!!!
Thank God indeed.
DeLay is truly an evil man who deserved to be caught, indicted, tried and, God willing, convicted and sentenced to the max.
Loathesome is too kind a word for him.
yet another wheel goes a-flyin'
Melanie said: "And who is going to decide how to define "unqualified?" Nice in theory. Not too practical."
Uhh, there's this thing called a "resume," which is followed by a thing called "reference checking" that actually offers a fairly non-theoretical, highly practical way to discern whether someone like Brownie is a fucking, unqualified imbecile with good political connections.
And you do the Republicans a disservice by comparing their incomparable crookedness to the Democrats.
The GOP has elevated crookedness to an artform.
Karen, I'd use the term "science" as opposed to artform, but I agree...
I tend to agree with Melanie, too. An anti-cronyism law is probably as enforcable as an ethics law.
And just what does that say about our country when we actually need to pass an ethics law for our government???
Am I rambling? It's hard to tell before my first cup of coffee...
Anti Crony law:
On application:
List anyone you know or anyone they know who has ties to incumbent legislators.
If you lie, the penalty is death.
