DeLay's Departure WILL Help the Democrats

In this wacky world of GOP politics, up means down and winning means losing.
So often, one can listen to a GOP politician speak and assume the opposite of what they say as truth.
Case in point, Tom DeLay.
In his pathetic exit speech, he said he didn't want his re-election race to turn into an advantage for the Democrats who'd use his campaign as a symbol of the GOP's culture of corruption.
Does that arrogant clown actually think his exit will make us forget what a crook he and his GOP cronies are?
Like convicted felon and GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff, DeLay is an indicted criminal whose time in power was running out.
Assuming he's guilty is about as sure a thing as assuming Saddam Hussein is guilty, yet we will not find a GOP who would verify that assumption.
Surely, DeLay's vacant seat will be filled by a Democrat.
Many open seats will be filled by Democrats come November.
It's not that the Democrats have done such a great job of pointing out their differences or clamoring for GOP accountability- it's that vermin like DeLay and Abramoff have done all the heavy lifting for them.

I would rather vote for my fucking cat than some of these Democraps. Its gonna be a hard time for me in the voting booth..do I pick dumb or dumber?

Dusty, you pick dumb, in my opinion. We have all ready had dumber for quite some time, and dumber means corruption and war, among other horrible things.

DeLay sunk his own ship with his arrogance, and slimey grin. Abramoff sunk his with his incredible greed, and for taking advantage of Native Americans. (Like they needed that AGAIN),
I am delighted to see them go.

With very few exceptions, the worst Democrat is a better choice than the best Republican. At least the bad Democrats may have the sense to vote with their smarter colleagues.
I may be disappointed with many Democrats, but I loathe the Republicans. All of them.

Karen, I so agree with you. I have tried to find one I like, and I have failed for years. I have voted for one Republican years ago for County Sherriff. I knew him personally, and he was a good guy.

My dad always said this, "I always vote for the best man. I think that is what you should do, and I have never voted for a GD Republican in my life." You would have grinned as big as I did, if you heard him say it. He was so funny.

Yeah, the Dems are great, but where the hell are they? Lets get it on you spineless wimps! We have a President who lied, spied, denied and has all but pulled down his pants and shit in our faces, but Harkin and Feingold are left standing there with their dicks in their hands trying to do it all and NO Dems to back them up. Bush is setting the Dems up with dozens of slam dunk ways to oust him and they're doing the lithium shuffle. wtf?

Good god ladies..I didn't mean I had to pick between repubes and democraps..give me a scintilla of credit please..

Sorry Dusty, I apologize. I sincerely didn't mean to rant or accuse, but I'm so frustrated I could implode. I know everyone else is too. KZ I'll lay low on your blog until I cool off. That may be after the next presidential election though.

Wowza!
I hope NOBODY lays low on this blog- we need all the spit n' fire we can muster.
I happen to agree that the Democrats have been way too timid about confronting BushCo, and that they have yet to come up with cohesive plans on much of anything.
Fortunately, with the Republicans fucking up so many things so badly, the Demos won't need many plans.
Dusty, you'll be excited to know that my sister (BigSis) is very slow to anger (unlike her little sister) so if she's saying things in an aggressive way, it's a sign that the sleeping lions are awakening and getting very vocal.
People like me get angry over tiny political missteps.
People like my sister have longer fuses and much bigger bundles of TNT.
Dusty, have faith in the Democrats. As they see the public's hunger for blood, they'll finally start to feed us.

I have voted for some moderate-to-liberal Republican candidates before and am likely to do so again.

The Republicans have a platform that reeks.
Anyone who is a member of that party either endorses the platform or they are raving hypocrites.
Either way, they are cordially invited to go fuck themselves.
