I Love It!
I live in Texas, which as you all know carried Bush in the last two elections.
I have a handful of Republican friends, but we agreed long ago not to talk politics.
But lately, one by one, they are starting to tell me they can't take much more of Bush.
"Oh, why's that?" I ask demurely.
"Because he's fucked up everything he touches," they reply.
I am kind. I do not ask why it took them six years to get it.
They are angry.
They feel lied to.
They feel personally abused by Bush's reign of incompetence, graft and greed.
I know something that would be fun:
Tell us a story of someone you know who's changed his or her mind about Bush, and give us the details.

Remember the little Down's guy I was talking about last week? He's starting to turn around... it's just hard not to notice, no matter who you are.
My eldest nephew started a firestorm last year when he
e-mailed his father, my sisters and me a tome on why he backed Bush.
I'd ask him how he felt about Bush lately, but he moved to some state up north with a new job and hasn't bothered to send his aunts his new address or phone number.
I hope Dubya remembers him in his will, because that may be all he inherits.
My grandmother ran a polling spot from her home in Whittier CA during the 60's. My dad was all excited because none other than Tricky Dick voted in grannys house the year he won the presidency, I think..it could of been the other one..I forget..
anyways..MY dad is a lifelong repube..he used to fill out my mom's ballot for her..which totally pissed me off..course my mom said to me"how the hell does he know what i do in that booth?NOW i know what NOT to vote for".. :)
Daddy dearest blurted out to me recently how much he hates the Shrub and every repube that he was duped into voting for the last two years. My dad was also a lifer in the navy and the federal prison system as a warden..for him to tell me he would"vote for one of your fucking cats dusty before I would vote for another repube"..well ladies..I almost choked to death on my starbucks.. I gave him a big hug and he told me to sit the hell down and quit embarrassing him. This coming from a man that called me a god damn commie more times than I care to remember :)
ps..he did say "fuck" too..i swear..
That was a priceless story, Dusty.
My GOP nephew continues to display a total lack of global concern.
Now it's blood covered diamonds.
I wish they would send his ass to Sierra Leone and let him get to know the people who are dying because of the bling.
He's become such a disappointment, selling his soul for material prosperity.
I'd like to slap him upside the head with one of the dirty diapers I used to change when he was a baby.
:(
LOL KZ..thats a visual..its a phase hopefully for your nephew..eventually he will come around..we can only hope.
Big sis's story was interesting, to have the guy go from "Gun-ho" to we want to get out NOW..thats a trip and a half.
Nah, my nephew started turning when he was in college and became an uber fratboy.
Then he was graduated from college and started clawing his way up the corporate ladder.
He's a posterboy for the neo-con GOP: glib, heartless and arrogant.
Not to mention Baptist.
