They'll Be Coming Out of the Woodwork

>>snip>>
Russell D. Tice is a former intelligence analyst for the U.S. Air Force, Office of Naval Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and National Security Agency (NSA). During his nearly 20 year career with various United States government agencies, he conducted intelligence missions related to the Kosovo War, Afghanistan, the USS Cole bombing in Yemen and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In December, 2005, Tice helped spark a national controversy over claims that the NSA and the DIA were engaged in unlawful and unconstitutional wiretaps on American citizens. He later admitted that he was one of the sources that were used in the New York Times' reporting on the wiretap activity in December 2005.

Tice began to receive national attention as a whistleblower in May, 2005, after speaking publicly about alleged retaliation by government officials for reporting his suspicions that a DIA colleague might be a Chinese spy, and about the need for legislation to protect national security agency whistleblowers. <<<<

Now that Bush and Dick are out on their crooked asses, Tice is becoming a regular on Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow's MSNBC shows, and he's telling just how slimy and devious the Bush spy network has been toward ordinary citizens.
Using certain algorhythms, Bush's spooks were listening in on millions of calls made and taken by all sorts of people, especially journalists.
I imagine any blogger who's ever said even one tiny incendiary thing about BushCo has been tapped at least a couple of hundred times.
The NSA had free reign under Bush, and apparently they took full advantage of the lawlessness encouraged by the corrupt, deceitful Bush regime.
Now that the Bush goons are gone, imagine the stories we'll be hearing by whistleblowers in the coming months.
One step closer to prosecuting those miserable, treasonous sons of bitches.

Do you really think they will EVER face any kind of trial? I don't think it will happen. I think they've already walked away free, leaving Scooter in prison on their behalf. Don't you think he probably promised him he'd get him out if he lied for them?

I tend to agree with Anon above. However, it will likely be either a) a long time before we see another republican president or b) a long time before another administration tries to pull the same shit and gets away with it.

Bush commuted Libby's sentence-he's not in prison.

I think it's so obvious that crimes were committed, Obama hardly has a choice but to allow his justice department to launch investigations.
And sure, GOP goons like Cornyn will try to brand efforts to seek justice as witch hunts, but by now their whining is so partisan and obvious, who's gonna listen to their whining?

I sure hope so, and I sure hope this idiot media stops worrying about whether Obama's wearing a jacket or "really" president thanks to Roberts flubbing his job--and instead focuses on their respsonsibility to be a watchdog for the people again. They should be busy 24/7 for YEARS, digging up all the shit Chimpy/Vader did.

"Hey Bush, you stink like manure!"
"Thanks for the nose news, neighbor!"

I tend to agree with Diane but not about a) because Murkans are dumb and we all know that a) will try b) again, just a bit more refined and under the radar.

Never assume America has learned its lesson.

I'm thinking Anon may be right.
When the next wave of horrible news on the economy hits (more businesses closing, joblessness etc) I think people will want Obama to concentrate on fixing the economy rather than beating a dead horse to death.

I have to disagree.
When the economy takes another hit, people (who aren't on Fox News) aren't gonna blame Obama, they're gonna pin it on the fool they think caused it.
And what better way to get even with the jerk who caused you to lose your job or house and ruined the economy? Seeing him thrown in prison...for any reason would make a lot of people happy- for all sorts of reasons.

I'm listening to Carl Bernstein talk to Rachel Maddow about it right now. Amazing.

I think a good next step would be for progressive media and activist organizations to start a slow campaign of FOIA requests to gradually uncover what actually is going on. This can add to the pressure from whistleblowers.

Okay Zip, you make sense. I'm on board with what libhom said too, just tell me who and when to contact. Even if they don't go after anyone, at least their illegal activities will be out in the open to counter the outrageous b.s I'm sure the Bush liberry will contain.

With a 22% approval rating of Bush, the wiretappers must have had their hands full.
They must have secret archives with compelling intercepted calls with subject matter such as *Can you pick up some toilet paper on the way home?"*.

Yea people loathed Bush..... he was a criminal with a long list of high crimes & misdemeanors that should have been prosecuted.

Sis, I plan on inundating Maddow and Olbermann with encouragement.
There's also the US AG and members of both houses.
As American citizens we have a right to make demands of our government and I think in this case our demands are important.

I like how Chris Mathews bludgeons people with what he thinks they should be doing, so I'll drop him an email too. I'm on it.
