I wish to thank my fellow bloggers for doing all the heavy lifting for me on McCain's absurd selection.
I couldn't say any of it better myself.

I'm still trying to figure out what 70s or 80s TV star she reminds me of. It's killing me!

Is it Charlie's Angel Kelly Garrett when she would put on the glasses to be "in disguise"? Is it Ginger Grant? I gotta figure this out! Help!

This was a good move by McCain. While the Democratic leadership would have us believe they don't exist after this convention, the PUMAs are out there.

And now they have a chance to both vote for a woman and stick it to the sexist conspiracy that ended Hillary's campaign.

Amazingly, McCain isn't doing ok against Obama right now. I expect he'll be doing even better after this pick. But there is a definite bump in the road coming for Palin: the VP debate. She better hit the books.

I was listening to Diane Rehm the other day, and a caller wasn't voting for Obama because "I really wanted a woman."

So McCain, clever fellow that he is, kindly provided a woman. This one's for yew, babe! N' a beauty queen, no less!

Once he falls over from an attack of gas, she can assume the reins of power.

Giddap! Hyah!

This woman has all of a year and a half running Alaska as her 'experience"...plus...get this:

Palin made a name for herself in Alaska politics by serving as mayor of Wasilla City for six years.

Wasilla City:
Population 5469
Households 1979
34% Under age 18
Median age 29.7
Average Income $48,226
Average Home price $137,700
Approx 2118 homes

Are you kidding?

DGuz- she looks like Karen Valentine from "Room 222."

Anon- for once we agree. I couldn't be happier with McCain's choice. If he let me choose FOR him, it would have been her- an unknown, right-wing, environment raping, polar bear hating, 2nd place beauty queen with her mouth planted firmly around Exxon/Mobils' dick.
Oh, and from a backwoods state with 3 electoral votes and a GOP Senator under indictment.
:D

Woot! Again KZ, you hit the nail on the head with your latest comment! ;)

P.S. The PUMA's (party unity, my ass) of the Democratic party aren't gonna like this GOP broad one bit. She's about as opposite from Hillary as one can get.

Fran said...

OK, let's sort this out...

She is pro-gun.
She is against choice.
She is against LGBT marriage and domestic partnerships.
She is a creationist... sweet.

WTF?

Glad we're back on speaking terms, KZ!

I got some other questions about this pick: does this put AK back in the (R) column? Does she pull the "we only have one house" demographic toward the McCain ticket? And what are all the Republican misogynists going to do knowing this woman is evidently fertile, having just had a baby back in April? They have to be asking themselves, "Which is more intemperate? This woman once a month or McCain 24/7?"

You know Thurgood Marshall gave a press conference as he was retiring and some reporter asked him if he thought the president should be obligated to pick a black man to take his spot on the court.

Marshall's response was a little bit of advice his dad had given him: that there was no difference between a black snake and a white snake if they bit you.

With regards to Palin- it doesn't really matter whether she's qualified, or has the right experience for the job. I don't really care and I don't care to care.

Because I'm certain that John McCain doesn't have the right experience, judgement and knowledge for the job. HE'S not qualified. Who cares who he picks to be VP?

Yo Dean...awesome homily from your dad...thanks for sharing! ;)

i cant top any of those comments

but i think she looks more like Megan Mullaly than Karen Valentine

Karen from W&G would have more qualifications. Karen from Room 222 would have more qualifications AND Karen from Zipdrive would have TONS more qualifications

You know, Palin just gave birth to a special needs baby back in April.
Don't y'all think a mother belongs with her infant rather than traipsing all over Ohio n' such in a bus with McCain?
That ain't family values, that's child neglect.

She reminds me of Andrea Zuckerman/Gabrielle Carteris from Beverly Hills 90210.

(I see she's had a TVshow double in almost every decade since 70s... wow!)

Woops!
There's a lot of buzz on the Internet Tubes that Palin's new baby is actually the child of her 16-year-old daughter.
Whaaaat?

Seems odd. I'm not in that great of physical shape - not trim by any stretch of the imagination. But I can tell you after my body had been stretched out by a couple of pregnancies, when I was pregs with Cupcake, I was showing by month four and I wasn't putting on much weight due to feeling sick all the time.

Seems curious to me.

I thought women that have babies "late in life" have a really high risk of having a downs syndrome child?

I swear I read it some-fucking-where.

Anonymous said...

Yes, having a baby later in life is more risky so Palin having a downs syndrome child is completely plausible. But what isn't plausible is that she could have an absolutely flat belly at 7 mos. Pictures don't lie.
