A New View of Texas Politicians

While Texas has been saddled with some very inept GOP politicians, we Democrats can feel pride with those we elected.
I've had the pleasure of meeting both Congress Reps. Lee and Doggett, and I think my readers outside of Texas should see them in action.

Not being an economics expert (just like McCain) I have been steadfastly opposed to the bailout and unable to offer any technical reasons why other than it simply doesn't feel right, and I don't trust the money handlers.

But I was very pleased yesterday to learn that Doggest (and Lee) were voting against the measure. Because it's a little unnerving to find myself in the same camp as hardcore rightwing Republicans, I needed to know I wasn't completely off the deep end, and Doggett confirmed that.

I'm just sorry I live a few miles outside his district. I wish he were my representative.

Lee is particularly eloquent and knowledgeable here. I hope her colleagues were listening, 'cause that's what I would've liked to have said to them (if I were that articulate and stuff).

I adore Ms.Lee, and believe she would be a fine representative for any region of our nation.

Like mine..which is led by a fucking Rethug who is cloned in the Tom DeLay mold.

The Vultures have come to roost!
Vultures Vultures Everywhere!

I was just thinking WWMIS?
What Would Molly Ivins Say about all this?
Ohh I bet she would be red hot mad... for all the same reasons both Reps listed.

Congress does not have to hurry to pass a bill
they need to scramble to get it right.

I fear hurried equals shoddy & as many holes as a sieve. Loopholes, that is.

Plus we must make sure if crimes were committed, prosecution, fines & fees are paid.
I do not care if some high finance people have to sell their summer homes in the Hamptons.
Or have to sell their mansions & buy a reasonable home.
Some karma if they did!

Thanks for sharing this. I wish my congressman. Pete King had the cajones to speak up in this fashion. But he's been a Bush lackey since January 20, 2001.

Wow- that is great! Thanks for showing us the better parts of TX... other than you, Konagod, Delia(formerly anyway!).

And Molly.

Sigh. We miss her. Hard.
