Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold.

Go Get 'em, John 'Bull' Durham

Better Late Than Never, General Holder

Nervous, Dick?

After the explosive CIA documents finally came out, Attorney General Eric Holder had no choice but to name a special prosecutor, John Durham, to look into the medieval torture ordered by the Bush administration and their lackeys.
Threatening detainees with guns and electric drills, as well as threatening to rape and torture their mothers and kill their children were just part of the CIA Inspector General's report, released 5 years ago without anything done about it by the Cheney/Bush administration.
I hope the people who did the actual torturing give up those who ordered them to do it, then they tell who ordered them to do it, then they tell who authorized it...on up to those we all know were responsible for it: Cheney, Ashcroft, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Rice, Tenet, and ultimately, that dimwitted sadist George Bush.
It really doesn't matter what the crybaby GOP says about the investigation. After so many war crimes, too many lies and so much negativity, Holder may as well give them something real to bitch about.
I am cautiously optimistic that justice might finally be served.
Though General Holder has stressed that the investigation will have a very limited scope, I have a hunch they'll uncover so much horror, they'll be forced into delving deeper. We all know who was behind all this.
Would it be too much to ask that Dick Cheney's final heart attack occur in a federal prison?
I think not.

"I think the decision (to investigate) is disgusting," Ari Fleischer, President George W. Bush's first press secretary, told the Huffington Post. "It's amazing to me that the people who kept us safe may now become the people our government prosecutes. There are plenty of real criminals out there -- it would be nice if the Justice Department went after them."

What a dick.
How these Bush crooks keep saying they 'kept us safe' when 9/11 happened on their watch is beyond my comprehension.
The Saudis attacked us on 9/11 because they've owned Bush since they staked him in his first failed oil business. They knew he wouldn't do anything to them, but he was only too happy to attack their enemy, Saddam Hussein.
I hope the special prosecutor includes this lying putz in the dragnet.

I heard on NPR this morning that they won't be investigating the lawyers. And if they don't investigate the lawyers they probably won't investigate their bosses. Since they can't blame the lowly soldiers now that the memos are out, the next slobs up the food chain, between the lawyers and that female General they blamed, will take the heat.

Don't count on Cheney et al getting in trouble for anything. Its not going to happen. I'll bet they've already got their crew of paid rioters/protestors frothing to screw up any kind of serious investigation.

i don't think any of the bigwigs will ever be prosecuted. in fact, i doubt anyone will. they'll use national security as a bullshit excuse not to disclose what really happened and who ordered it. i would love to be 100% wrong. if i'm not, then the rule of law means absolutely nothing in this country.

I can certainly understand the reluctance to get too excited about this but my hope is the investigation will uncover too many heinous crimes to ignore--kinda like picking at a scab and discovering a festering malignancy.
