You Don't Have to be a Republican to be a Dishonest Prick
It seems pretty boy John Edwards is about to admit his mistress's baby is his.
It's bad enough he cheated on his wife Elizabeth while she was battling cancer, but the idea that he was too arrogant and ignorant to use a condom or ensure the mistress used some form of birth control tells us all we need to know.
I guess with his ego, he thought he was omnipotent enough to will her not to get pregnant by the sheer force of his dimples.
I'm sure his baby mama Rielle Hunter was not his only sexual conquest.
Cheaters cheat--that's what they do, whenever and wherever they can.
To think I once believed this conceited turd would make a good president.
He's not even a good human being.
And unlike Republicans, a lot of us Democrats don't like liars regardless of their political affiliations.

I know how you feel. Early on in the campaign, I liked Edwards because he was the only guy talking about the two Americas and the widening gap between the poor and the rich. He could have done for poverty what Al Gore did for environmental awareness, but he threw it all away to follow his dick. Jackass.
I think anyone who aspires to be a high level politician has to be a narcissist. For example, I truly like Obama but he can't always hide his arrogance and when he swaggers around like a thug it really bugs me. The Kennedys were all great men in my eyes, but womanizers, the lot of them. And Bill Clinton, don't get me started.
Jon Edwards, all the right words, all the wrong deeds.
I guess all we can hope is to elect narcissists who want things that just happen to be good for us.
i don't care about where he gets his dinky stinky. it was the lies and cover-up afterward that really pissed me off. he took the chance of winning the nomination and then having this come out. that would have assured the rethug the victory. selfish, selfish, selfish. while i have all kinds of sympathy for elizabeth edwards because of her illness, she was just as guilty for helping cover this up. there was more than their marriage at stake. the country's future was at risk.
Good point, Nonnie.
I always liked Edwards and this really disappointed me. It is the lying - I know that sounds like a cliche, but that gets me the most. And that she was sick in this case really adds another level of disgust to the whole dirty business.
*sigh*
I never liked Edwards-- there was something about him that was too slick.
He was saying the words about the poor, but he was a wealthy lawyer living in a mansion.
Not that precludes one from having compassion for the poor, but then came that $500 haircut scandal.
That was the tip of the iceberg.
An affair & a baby.
What a busy bee (bastard) he was.
Even though it was not my place to judge his decision to be on the presidential campaign trail for a 2nd time, it really bothered me that he felt OK about it while his wife was battling cancer.
It's a big effing deal to run for president- very costly & time consuming. He knew what he was in for & went ahead with it anyway.
Others said they made that decision together (to be on the campaign trail while she had cancer treatment). .... in my gut, it felt wrong.
Politics came before their marriage.
I could not relate to someone running the country who would essentially throw their spouse under the bus in their time of need.
Edwards' words were always humble, but his smile was smug...and in regard to Randy Rielle's pregnancy, the truth of the man fully emerged. Any Sex Education teacher tells young men to be responsible: "If you're going to play the big game, suit up." Edwards felt he was above it all. Result: the baby that this sleazy coward denied.
