Peggy Noonan Disses Sarah Palin
Too Little, Too Late

The only time we've seen the genuine Peggy Noonan was when she was caught off mike saying Sarah Palin's VP selection was "pure political bullshit."
The next day she back pedaled in her column, saying how much she liked Sarah Palin.
Now that Palin has turned herself into political toast, out comes Peggy Fucking Noonan with a truthier statement:

"In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything.
She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity.
She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it.
She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough.
Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence.
"I'm not wired that way,"
"I'm not a quitter,"
"I'm standing up for our values."
In another age it might not have been terrible, but here and now it was actually rather horrifying..."

While I dislike most conservative pundits, I'd really like to punch Peggy Noonan in the neck.
From her phony, pinched aristocratic accent to her condescending tone, she's a media whore who'd fuck a snake to get ahead.
She peaked back in the 80's when she gave George Herbert Walker Bush that "thousand points of light" bullshit.

Hey Karen,
I was just reading how l'il Levi says Palin's stepping down because she wants to get millions from a book deal and has $500k in legal expenses.

Then I started to think, wasn't there a governor who got sued about every other day by folks in the opposition party, to the point that chasing down all the legal crap cost her the election?

Yes. Yes, I think that was Ann Richards who got sued by BushRoveCo. Right down to constant suits just for her calendar.

Molly Ivins wrote about it in "Shrub".

Anyway, when I think of a story that ties Sarah Palin, Anne Richards and Molly Ivins together it logically follows that Karen! Zipdrive! will pop right into my head. What's your take on that deal?

Love, Jess.

The Bushian neo-cons of Texas pestered Ann Richards to death with frivolous lawsuits because they couldn't stand her popularity or her effectiveness as governor.
When she was keynote speaker for the DNC and said, "George Bush was born with a silver foot in his mouth..." it made W go crazy with hatred for her, kinda like when Saddam Hussein said he wanted to kill Bush senior.
The Richards haters, led by the Bush clan and all their money, sued her over every little trumped up bullshit matter because they wanted her to go broke.
Once that cocksucker Bush defeated her and became governor, Richards went on to make a huge fortune as an author and lobbyist.
Since Bush and Perry have been governor, there are no more big Democrat lobbyists in Texas. I know a few who once made a hefty living as lobbyists, but no more.
But Ann remains in the hearts of millions of Texans as a shining star. She outwitted those neo-con assholes in the end.

Amen on your Nooner post.

So, KarenZD...are you going to show up for one of the reported Palin/TexasBeardGov rallies? Inquiring minds.

I know some long time big $$ Democratic lobbyists in Texas. But the minute Bush became Texas Gov they started calling themselves Republicans. Lobbyists are all about the $$ so they don't care if you call them Shithooks, just show them the money.

just once, i want to meet piggy noonan, and for just one reason. i want to look at her sideways and say, "hello, noonan," just the way jerry seinfeld used to say, "hello, neuman."

I think it's a good sign that the Republicans are eating their own. Instead of criticizing them, let's buy them new forks and tasty brands of barbecue sauce!

I'd rather have root canal surgery and an endometrial biopsy at the same time than attend a Perry/Palin rally.
His sour face and dyed black hair and her singsong voice droning banal platitudes would make me want to break the law, big time.
And by break the law, I mean on their faces with the nearest pool cue.
He and she are two of the GOP's biggest assholes, and that's saying something.

I hate that a recent poll in Texas showed that if an election was held today, Perry would beat Kay Bailey Hutchison. That sucks. But then KBH hasn't even formally thrown her hat in the ring yet.

Another 4 years of Perry would make me puke.

Peggy Noonan writes that Sarah Palin is "self-referential to the point of self-reverence"?

An understatement. Try "delusions of royalty."

Mrs. Palin actually said she loves Alaska so much that she's "sacrificing her title" for the state.
