Attention All Suckers!

The National Guard is trying out a new promotional campaign to attract young recruits: free iTunes downloads. Visit the National Guard's website, sign up to be contacted by a Guard recruiter and you'll be listening to three free iTunes songs in no time.
And be sure to scan their great selection of war making music. It's totally hot, baby!

I got an upclose and personal view of the drop in recruitment numbers for the active army yesterday.

I was having lunch with an active duty friend of mine. We used to teach new soldiers together when I was on active duty (he still does).

The class size when we taught together just before 9/11 was anywhere from 100 - 140 students.

Yesterday, he told me his current class size was around 30. And has been like that for quite some time now.

So things like this iTunes download don't really surprise me. The repubes are trying every last-ditch effort they can think of to avoid instituting a draft.

God forbid they try to call up the retirees. How 'bout some Tuborg, eh?

chuckle...call me yella, but i did 6 years in the Navy. I've wondered how their recruitment numbers look these days. Or the Coast Guard.
