What Do You Figure This Cost the Taxpayers?
"The Progressive Magazine is reporting that the Secret Service recently entered a North Carolina high school to remove a student's project that was made for an assignment on the Bill of Rights.
Students in a senior civics and economics class at Currituck County High School were told to take photographs to illustrate their rights in the Bill of Rights.
One student photographed a picture of President Bush with a red thumb tack through his head.
He then took the photo to Wal-Mart to be developed.
An employee at Wal-Mart called the Kitty Hawk police and then the matter was passed onto the Secret Service.
Late last month the Secret Service sent officers to the school to question the principal and teacher. They also entered the classroom to remove the photograph."

In trouble for a photograph of a red thumb tack through Bush's head? Lol....
Will bloggers be far behind in their round up? Or do they just like picking on kids? And mothers of dead soldiers? And pacifist nuns?
I guess those kids aced their project on the Bill of Rights, huh? I mean, having the SS show up at your school kind of "nailed" that "A." (pardon the pun) Now the employee that turned them in will get a Congressional Medal of Honor presented by the head of Homeland Security. Or Ashcroft.
What about if they would have just used a staple gun? A visit from Mike Brown?
If they come after Bloggers I can't wait to sue them in Federal Court for violating my first amendment rights.
Come and get me, Turd Blossom!
I have a secret weapon: I actually read the Constitution *and* the Bill of Rights.
I have to laugh when people accuse me of hating the constitution because of my 'values' and then turn around and accuse me of 'hiding behind' that same document when I protest or speak or...
yo dog..its their favorite thing to do..remove our rights being the second most favorite thing..
Freedom...use it or lose it.
Good post, Karen!
While on active duty, I had a picture of the Chimp on my office wall with a thumbtack thru the forehead. When asked about it, I just told people, "Well, that's how I keep it hanging there."
I was ultimately ORDERED to move the pin to another area of the picture away from the Chimp's likeness. I guess they didn't like the "message" they thought I was sending. (Yer not supposed to talk bad about your Commander In Chief whilst on active duty - it's illegal, y'know)
So I moved the pin to the top of the paper and used a pencil to poke an even bigger hole in the Chimp's forehead.
So, for my last few months on active duty, I had a pic of the Chimp on my office wall, with a big hole in his head.
They gave up on getting me to take it down. There's nothing harder to deal with than someone who is less than a year from retirement...
I can't believe they did that. Dont' any of these idiots take civics lessons? Unbelieveable.
What I can't believe is that it wasn't all over the news.

Hard to fit a little scandal in with all the big ones on the front burner.
