Exactly What 10 Terror Threats Did You Thwart, Bush?
-or-
Put Up or Shut Up

Congressman John Conyers, Jr., Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, joined by Reps. Jane Harman and Bennie Thompson sent the following letter to White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card requesting information on terror plots:
Conyers Added: "On numerous occasions, the President has claimed successes in the war on terror without specifics to back up his assertions. We hope yesterday's speech is not one of those instances and look forward to learning about the specific details."

Dear Mr. Card:
In yesterday's speech, President Bush stated that the U.S. and our partners have disrupted at least ten serious al Qaeda terrorist plots since September 11th, including three al Qaeda plots to attack inside the United States.
We receive regular classified briefings on terrorist threats but the number ten came as news to us. We want assurances that the details of these ten cases will be briefed to the relevant committees of Congress.
Please contact us immediately so that we may arrange such a briefing.
Sincerely,
John Conyers, Jr., Ranking Member, Committee on the Judiciary
Jane Harman, Ranking Member, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
Bennie Thompson, Ranking Member, Committee on Homeland Security

Watch- Bush won't want to mention specifics because he'll trump up some excuse about giving the terrorists clues about the secret methods his crack team of terrorist detectives use to detect Al Qaida plots.
i.e., time for more bu__sh__.
