Espionage Case Breaches the White House
Accused Marine Worked in Vice President's Office
By ABC's BRIAN ROSS and RICHARD ESPOSITO

Federal investigators say Leandro Aragoncillo, a naturalized citizen from the Philippines, used his top secret clearance to steal classified intelligence documents from White House computers.

Oct. 5, 2005 — Both the FBI and CIA are calling it the first case of espionage in the White House in modern history.
Officials tell ABC News the alleged spy worked undetected at the White House for almost three years. Leandro Aragoncillo, 46, was a U.S. Marine most recently assigned to the staff of Vice President Dick Cheney.
"I don't know of a case where the vetting broke down before and resulted in a spy being in the White House," said Richard Clarke, a former White House advisor who is now an ABC News consultant.

Oops, I should have known you'd be all over this news. Disregard the other comment I left up there.

A SPY, under CHENEY, huh? I did not know that. This spy novel takes on a more exotic flavor now. And, this is not the first time in recent history, unless you discount the selling out (by the White House) of a cia covert operative.

Gee, I wonder what the REAL story is, behind this news fest! It's everywhere! They don't know about the 10,000 evacuees waiting in raw sewage to be rescued from the convention center but they have a perfect story about this guy, down to every detail. Amazing how their selective process works. Must be something really interesting going on behind the scenes for such an extravagant distraction!

God, I'm so cynical. I don't remember ever being quite this bad before.

these morons can't even keep shit straight in their OWN house...what makes people think they can keep the rest of the country safe?

Oh yeah...another distraction...umm, things aren't going all that well, the polls are down, people are starting to realise Chimp is...well, a Chimp...we need something to draw heat off for a few days til we can regroup...we already sent Chimp on vacation, so that won't work. We can't send him down south either. New Orleans and Biloxi are getting tired of his useless photo ops...

What we need here is a good 'ol case of espionage...cloak and dagger stuff...
