Hillary Asks for Rumsfeld's Resignation

It's about time she stopped pandering to the middle, found her Democratic balls and took a stand.
Rumsfeld, like the entire Bush administration, has totally failed in his job as Secretary of Defense. He's a loathesome, arrogant, sniveling bureaucrat whose agenda serves someone, but certainly not the voters or taxpayers.
Hillary said:
"I just don't understand why we can't get new leadership that would give us a fighting chance to turn the situation around before it's too late," the New York Democrat and potential 2008 presidential contender said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I think the president should choose to accept Secretary Rumsfeld's resignation."
"The secretary has lost credibility with the Congress and with the people," she said. "It's time for him to step down and be replaced by someone who can develop an effective strategy and communicate it effectively to the American people and to the world."

Amen, sister, amen.

HulLO, Zippy, but it was too late by the time the US invaded... and Dubya doesn't want competence. He wouldn't be comfortable with competence. It would be so out of place in his administration. Since he is so out of touch, he has no idea that Iraq is a disaster... and if it is, it isn't HIS disaster. It's the insurgents' fault or some such bullshit. He'll never own his part in the current mess.

I am so fucking disappointed in Hillary, but that disappointment now reaches back a couple of years. She now has to play Democrat, so that in a year or so she can flash her Republican roots and her deep Methodist faith.

Wotta phony.

I think the right loves it when we lefties disagree on Hillary.
I think her Democratic bona fides are hardwired.
People focus on her recent pandering to the middle, but forget she helped word the impeachment documents for Nixon, among many other great initiatives.
Bottom line:
If she was the Democratic candidate for the 2008 presidential campaign, for which Republican would you prefer to vote over her?
A few of her recent gaffes have disgusted me, but compared to BushCo, I can forgive her.

Wil Rogers or some such said, dems can't wait for the war to be over so they can begin killing their wounded. I'm sure Repubs love the Dem infighting. But it won't get us anywhere. It does keep us distracted, or something does, from how truly awful this admin is.

If you saw Hillary and The Chimp both drowning in a river, and you only had time to save one of them, would you

a)do the Junior Jumble in the newspaper
b)trim your toenails

Hillary is so obviously fake these days. I think she'd make a perfect president.

While I still like Hillary as a person, she needs to slam it in reverse and undo all her hawkish ways asap.
Pandering to the middle will backfire, and she has enough fire to tout her TRUE stances on the issues.
She's got bad, bad advisors.
She needs to hire Bill's team and get on the stick.
