George Tenet: Go Fuck Yourself

Like a rat abandoning a sinking ship, former Bush buddy and CIA Director George Tenet has a new book out where he plays the part of a hapless little rabbit caught up in the snare of the BushCo Lie Machine.
Slam Dunk Tenet was as much a part of the Iraq fiasco as any of the other lying criminals in the Bush inner circle.
Accepting the Medal of Freedom from Bush sealed the deal. What bullshit.
When someone's career with Bush is kaput, they write a book where they claim innocence and blame their fellow BushCo cohorts for all the fuck ups in which they participated enthusiastically.
Like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice, George Tenet is just one more sniveling war criminal who needs to be locked up.
Tenet had a choice when he realized he was in thick with a bunch of liars and criminals.
He could have quit on the spot and told the nation why he quit.

He could have had the courage of his convictions (if he ever had any) and said no to the rush to an un-debated, premeditated war with Iraq.
Now his book proves he's just another spineless, whining tattletale who turned on his idols once he got kicked out of their little clique.

HA!

Randall Tobias, head of the Bush administration's foreign aid programs, abruptly resigned Friday after his name surfaced in an investigation into a high-priced call-girl ring.

Enough said.

Bush and Cheney Chide Democrats on Iraq Deadline

They accused Democrats of political opportunism in pushing a timetable for leaving Iraq.

Oh?
Haven't they read or heard of the hundreds of polls that say the American people want this war to end? Aren't they there to enforce the will of the people who pay their salaries?
Political opportunism is a subject they know too well.
Since when does an administration have a highly paid political goon like Karl Rove on staff whose only function is political chicanery? Did the Clintons put James Carville on the tax funded payroll when they were in office? Uhh, no.
It's not a political maneuver to demand a timeline on ending this war. It's called listening to constituents and acting on their will.

Don't Tell Me About Another Campus Massacre, Tell Me That Handguns Will Be Banned

Virginia imposes few restrictions on the purchase of handguns and no requirement for any kind of licensing or training. The state does limit handgun purchases to one per month to discourage bulk buying and resale, state officials said.
Once a person had passed the required background check, state law requires that law enforcement officers issue a concealed carry permit to anyone who applies. However, no regulations and no background checks are required for purchase of weapons at a Virginia gun show.
“Virginia’s gun laws are some of the weakest state laws in the country,” said Josh Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. “And where there have been attempts to make some changes, a backdoor always opens to get around the changes, like the easy access at gun shows.”

Who is Monica Goodling?
By Ron Hutcheson McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON - Monica Goodling, the Department of Justice official who said Monday that she'll invoke the Fifth Amendment rather than talk to lawmakers, is a frequent figure in department e-mails released so far as part of the congressional investigation into the firings and hirings of U.S. attorneys.
Goodling, 33, is a 1995 graduate Messiah College in Grantham, Pa., an institution that describes itself as "committed to an embracing evangelical spirit."
She received her law degree at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va. Regent, founded by Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, says its mission is "to produce Christian leaders who will make a difference, who will change the world." ...

Okay...is this the kind of person who's qualified to be a high ranking Justice Dept. official?
As Bill Mahar said on his show last night--Pat Robertson founded a law school?
If they think Monica Lewinski was bad for Clinton, this Monica makes her look like Mother Theresa.
With her quasi education and her pleading the fifth, she's an unqualified, lying turd.

Here's What They Promise NOT to Do...

In 2000, Team Bush took over the Republican Party and laid out its promises to the American people. The following pledges and claims are taken directly from the 2000 GOP Platform. Should we laugh or cry at promises made by anadministration that has ruled through deception, endless war, politicization of intelligence and the Justice Dept., outing CIA officers, and the like?

Honest Government
"Trust, pride, and respect: we pledge to restore these qualities to the wayAmericans view their government."

Keeping Intelligence Free of Politics
"Nor should the intelligence community be made the scapegoat for political misjudgments.
A Republican administration working with the Congress will respect the needs and quiet sacrifices of these public servants as it strengthens America's intelligence and counter-intelligence capabilities.

"Diplomacy and Maintaining Allies"
The arrogance, inconsistency, and unreliability of the [Clinton] administration's diplomacy have undermined American alliances, alienated friends, and emboldened our adversaries.

"Endless Military Missions, Exit Strategies and Troop Readiness"
The current administration has casually sent American armed forces ondozens of missions without clear goals, realizable objectives, favorable rules of engagement, or defined exit strategies."

"Sending our military on vague, aimless, and endless missions rapidly saps morale.
Even the highest morale is eventually undermined by back-to-back deployments, poor pay, shortages of spare parts and equipment, inadequate training, and rapidly declining readiness. When it comes to military health, the administration is not providing an adequate military health care system.

"Restoring the Rule of Law and the Justice Department
The rule of law, the very foundation for a free society, has been under assault, not only by criminals from the ground up, but also from the top down. An administration that lives by evasion, coverup, stonewalling and duplicity has given us a totally discredited Department of Justice. The credibility of those who now manage the nation's top law enforcement agency is tragically eroded. We are fortunate to have its dedicated career workforce, especially its criminal prosecutors, who have faced the unprecedented politicization of decisions regarding both personnel and investigations.

"Gas Prices (then $1.55 per gallon)
"Today, gas prices have skyrocketed, and oil imports are at all-time highs....By any reasonable standard, the Department of Energy has utterly failed in its mission to safeguard America's energy security. "
The Cheney Thing from the NY Times

By MARTIN STOLZ
Published: April 11, 2007
PROVO, Utah, April 10 — The invitation extended to Vice President
Dick Cheney to be the commencement speaker at Brigham Young University has set off a rare, continuing protest at the Mormon university, one of the nation’s most conservative.
Some of the faculty and the 28,000 undergraduate and graduate students, who are overwhelmingly Republican, have expressed concern about the Bush administration’s support for the war in Iraq and other policies, but most of the current protest has focused on Mr. Cheney’s integrity, character and behavior. Several students said, for example, that they were appalled at Mr. Cheney’s use of an expletive on the Senate floor in a June 2004 exchange with Senator
Patrick J. Leahy, Democrat of Vermont.
“The problem is this is a morally dubious man,” said Andrew Christensen, a 22-year-old Republican from Salt Lake City. “It’s challenging the morality and integrity of this institution.”
Students and faculty at Brigham Young — a private university sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — are expected to adhere to an honor code, which emphasizes “being honest, living a chaste and virtuous life, abstaining from alcohol and tobacco, using clean language” and following church doctrines. They are also required to follow strict modesty guidelines for grooming and attire.
In the two weeks since the university announced that Mr. Cheney would be the speaker at the commencement on April 26, hundreds of students have attended respectful and quiet campus demonstrations about his presence, and some 3,600 students and alumni had signed petitions by Tuesday afternoon seeking a “more appropriate” replacement speaker.
Warner P. Woodworth, 65, an independent and a professor at the university’s Marriott School of Management, questioned Mr. Cheney’s assertions about
Al Qaeda’s ties to the government of Saddam Hussein and his involvement in disclosing the identity of Valerie Wilson, a covert officer in the Central Intelligence Agency, which led to the conviction of I. Lewis Libby Jr., Mr. Cheney’s former chief of staff.
“It just feels like too much sleaze and not the right values for B.Y.U.,” Mr. Woodworth said. “We espouse honesty, chastity, integrity, ethics, virtue and morality, and he does not epitomize those values.”
Several students said they would welcome Mr. Cheney on campus at a forum where he could be questioned. “I just don’t feel that Cheney represents what we want B.Y.U. to represent,” said Sharon Ellsworth, 23, a junior and a Democrat from Marietta, Pa. “It would be cool to have him in a different setting.”
Some students said they were looking forward to Mr. Cheney’s speech. David Lassen, 23, the chairman of the B.Y.U. College
Republicans, said he hoped to present the vice president with petitions of support for his appearance on campus, signed by about 2,000 students and alumni.
“We’re excited for the world to see what B.Y.U. really is,” Mr. Lassen said. “No matter what you think of Cheney, he’s easily the most powerful man in the world.”
Mr. Lassen also said the debate about Mr. Cheney’s speech proves that, despite its reputation, Brigham Young “is a place for minority voices and healthy political discourse.”
Mr. Cheney’s deputy press secretary, Megan McGinn, said Tuesday that the address would not be a “political speech.”
“The vice president is looking forward to attending the graduation ceremony at Brigham Young,” she said.
Early this year, the White House asked university administrators for a chance to speak at the graduation, a Brigham Young spokeswoman, Carri Jenkins, said. The church’s president and prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, and his two top counselors, “in their capacity as members of the board of trustees” of Brigham Young, then extended an invitation to Mr. Cheney, Ms. Jenkins said.
She emphasized that neither the university nor the church viewed the invitation as an endorsement of Bush administration policies or the Republican Party. And most students said that despite their concerns, they respected the authority of university and church leaders.
Here in Utah County, 85 percent of voters supported the Bush-Cheney ticket in 2004, a higher percentage than the rest of the state. Those opposed to Mr. Cheney, Mr. Lassen added, represent Democrats and a small number of Republicans, and the university remains a firmly conservative place.
Currently, 49 percent of voters in Utah are Republican and 18 percent Democrats, with the rest independents or divided among minor parties. That represents a six-percentage-point decline for Republicans since January, based on telephone surveys conducted by Dan Jones, a political science professor at the
University of Utah and president of a polling firm that began measuring public opinion in Utah in 1960.
The surveys also show that Mr. Cheney’s stature among Utah Republicans has declined in recent months and that more Republicans are identifying themselves as independents, Mr. Jones said.
Many students who oppose the invitation to Mr. Cheney describe Brigham Young’s commencement as not just a ceremony but also a religious service, which in the past often featured top church leaders who shared spiritual messages.
Tricia Campbell, 21, a senior from Orem who is a Republican, said Mr. Cheney’s behavior in office “just doesn’t fit” with what she had learned from the university’s mission of promoting of “integrity, character and moral development.”
“I thought commencement would be a spiritual, uplifting exercise in which I could take advice from someone I held in the highest esteem,” Ms. Campbell said. “It seems that was an extremely idealistic notion.”

Are They Kiddin'?

I am so sick of looking at Beto Gonzales's pig nose, goofy mouth and beady eyes. I'm glad they opted to subpoena his lying ass. Next they need to get Karl Rove and that battle axe Harriet Myers on the stand under oath. I say put it on prime time and let the people vote, like on American Idol. I'd spend 50 cents a call to vote those creeps guilty.

So, Larry Birkhead is the father of Dannilynn. Big shock. Anyone who watched Anna Nicole's reality show even once could tell you that Howard may have wanted to bone Anna, but she wasn't into him. I thought her assistant Kimmie got more ass off Anna Nicole than Howard ever dreamed of getting. He's just a schmuck ambulance chaser and prescription drug enabler. If he didn't have a deal with Entertainment Tonight or some tabloid rag, he'd be selling cut-rate lawsuits on basic cable at 3 a.m.

Jackie may be hot for Rebecca on Bravo's Work Out, but I think Rebecca's pulling an Anne Heche on her.
With a zillion hot lesbians in L.A., it's crazy that Jackie's trying to make one out of Rebecca. Jackie needs to give it a rest and lay off the help. It's a formula for disaster. And that dude Jesse needs to get a grip. He's a gay man- what does he care about Jackie humping Rebecca at the sushi joint? Even Peeler is being cool about it, and he's a straight Oklahoma asshole. And don't get me started on Tiffany showing up in the middle of the edamame course. Jackie better not say she hates drama. She IS drama.

I need to stop reading the news and watching TV. All these other peoples' bullshit is starting to take the place of the bullshit I know I'm capable of creating on my own.
I need to get busy!

Rehearsing?

I read that Alberto Gonzales has gone into seclusion so he can rehearse for his upcoming testimony.
Huh?
If he's planning to tell the truth, what's to rehearse?
Imagine yourself, fucking up something at work. Your boss comes around to talk with you about it and you tell him or her you need to go into seclusion for a few weeks to rehearse your answers.
What do you think your boss would say or do?
Should our country's leaders, like the Attorney General, be held to more lenient standards than some Dilbert in a cubicle somewhere?
The questions for Alberto Gonzales are very simple. Did you have anything to do with the politically motivated firings of federal attorneys or not? If so, why did you say you didn't?
If Gonzales wants to rehearse something, he should rehearse his answers for his next job interview. That's something he'll need to do soon, anyway.

You Go, Youngins'

Many students in the 2007 graduating class of Brigham Young University are publicly protesting the choice of Dick Cheney as their Commencement Speaker.
You know the guy's a fuckhead when BYU students, possibly the most conservative student body in America, are saying no thanks, dick, you don't represent our values.
I salute these kids for their courage in standing against this disgraceful choice for a commencement speaker.

They and their parents paid dearly for their BYU educations- the students should have a say in who sends them out into the world as optimistic college graduates.
I hope if dick does appear, they pelt him with whatever young Mormons consider trash.

Bravo: Easy Does It!

While we're on the topic of television, I gotta say Bravo is the best in gay programming for regular cable.
But I think they might be getting carried away.
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy started the ball rolling. Everyone loves that show.
Project Runway also is a fabulous show.
Top Chef is almost as good, except this most recent season they kept Marcel and his horrible hairdo on for far too long.
Then they add Work Out and that's a good show.
Top Design, with odd, dwarf-pixie Todd Oldham...ehhh.
Shear Genius? I'm not even gonna bother with. I'd rather watch paint dry.
I tried to watch The Housewives of Orange County but they all make me sick. I'm originally from L.A. and the only thing worth a damn about Orange County is Laguna Beach. Those bitches behind the gates on that show have no value beyond shopping and overindulging themselves and their worthless kids. The young Hispanic one who's hooked up with the older guy is the worst one. I'd like to buy her for what she's worth and sell her for what she thinks she's worth.
But let's get back to Work Out.
Jackie writes a blog and she's admitted that she and trainer Rebecca have something going on in real life. So, I guess Mimi just returned this season to get another 15 minutes of fame. Mimi reminds me of an untrained Cocker Spaniel. All that barking and biting, and for what? She's not even that cute.
What do you think?

Heaven Help Me

I tried to avoid it all this time, but I was surfing and the channel landed on 'Dancing With the Stars' and I accidentally loved it.
Who wouldn't love Clyde Drexler and his big old ass dancing to Zydeco music?
Now I even want to watch Heather Mills to see if her prosthetic flies off.
What's next, American Idol?
