Zogby Poll Says Obama's Ahead

I haven't decided yet who to pull for in the next presidential election--well, I mean which Democrat to pull for--but I found this poll interesting.
I could easily vote for Barack Obama. How about you?

Here's how he and the other Democratic hopefuls match up against GOP hopefuls:

Possible match-ups - 2008 U.S. presidential election

Rudy Giuliani (R) 42% - 48% Barack Obama (D)
John McCain (R) 43% - 46% Barack Obama (D)
Mitt Romney (R) 35% - 52% Barack Obama (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 35% - 52% Barack Obama (D)

Rudy Giuliani (R) 48% - 43% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
John McCain (R) 47% - 43% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
Mitt Romney (R) 40% - 48% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 41% - 48% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)

Rudy Giuliani (R) 47% - 43% John Edwards (D)
John McCain (R) 46% - 41% John Edwards (D)
Mitt Romney (R) 36% - 50% John Edwards (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 40% - 48% John Edwards (D)

Rudy Giuliani (R) 50% - 35% Bill Richardson (D)
John McCain (R) 52% - 31% Bill Richardson (D)

I just wish OB supported gay marriage. So far Kucinich is my guy, not that he stands a friggin' chance.

On the GOP side, I find Ron Paul fascinating. A true Goldwater Republican and he's scaring the shit out of the current establishment. Go Ron!

I love Ron Paul, considering he's a Republican. He's so retro.
No candidate will endorse gay marriage- it's a sure way to lose the election, and the GOP proved that when they roused dormant voters with that as a rallying call.
Besides, even if it were legal I wouldn't do it. Why emulate mainstream America when "living in sin" sounds so much hotter?

I like Ron Paul! Also Kucinich, but he alas is not going to go far, I think.

Love living in sin, but hate the scariness of no real protections for my family.

Run Al, run!

Rudy G is publicly okay with gay marriage and pro choice. But if cornered, as crazy as a rat in a coffee can and he's an R. And what, besides ceasing to be a scofflaw (paid his pile of tickets), stop smoking, and be clean and articulate, has Obama really done?

All these damn candidates. My head is spinning... and so are the candidates.

p.s. I really like John Edwards for running left.

Lulu, I like Edward's running left, too...a lot.
All this horsecrap about his $400 haircut disgusts me. Is that all they have on him?
Are we expected to believe the other candidates don't have plastic surgeons, tailors, hairdressers, make-up artists and fashion consultants on staff to make them look as good as possible on TV or other appearances?
We're a society that dwells on the visual.
We know how much Kirsty Alley used to weigh, how Guilliani ditched his comb-over and what Melody Griffith looks like without make-up. We as a nation are hungry for news like that, as shallow as it is.
If Edwards appeared on stage with his cowlick sticking up and three days worth of chin stubble, the moronic pundits would speculate that he was on the skids.
Edwards is pretty. That's one of the many appealing aspects of his persona. I think he should be allowed to spend campaign donations on whatever the fuck he thinks will enhance his vote-getting abilities.
Idiots who fall for the $400 haircut as being a legitimate issue in his viability as a candidate should have their hair cut by a fucking chimpanzee for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, well, once the right-wingers get a load of Thompson's bimbo of a trophy wife who's young enough to be his granddaughter, suddenly that'll be a symbol of good ole' fashioned family values.
I wish that old fart would run- as a Hollywood insider, he's bound to have some extra sizzly secrets hiding in those size jumbo boxer shorts.

I gave $20 to Ron Paul. He's the only Republican I would consider voting for, and I even like him versus anyone on the Democratic side. The conventional wisdom on Hillary is dead on: she isn't willing to take a principled stand if it would cost her votes. That's not leadership. Obama seems like a decent guy. Having been to Africa, I like his Kenyan roots. I would hope he would be a president with an empathy for the third world. I'm unimpressed with Edwards thus far.

Bill Richardson is the total package, but not pretty or greedy enough to compete with the likes of...everyone else.
