How is This Continuing to Happen?
You know you're being paid too much in Hollywood when you order your hookers by the half dozen and your drugs by the brick.
I've never seen Charlie Sheen's show, "Two and a Half Men," but is it so brilliant that Sheen can virtually piss on every law in California and still make $1.25 million an episode?
Did you know if his latest drug & hooker scandal results in a ratings boost for the show, he'll be given a substantial bonus?
How can he get by with all this multi-witnessed illegal drug and prostitution activity without the LAPD raising so much as an eyebrow?
Why is CBS paying this low bottom drunk/addict so much money when everyone can see he's got some sort of crazed death wish that all that money is expediting?
Rumor has it, he's so spoiled and indulged that he refused to go to rehab, so his people hired some rehab guy to sober him up in the comfort of his own mansion.
Yeah, the same mansion where just last week he was on an extended bender with five hookers and a brief case filled with cocaine, hand delivered by his dealer.
Are we supposed to believe his trip to the ER was because his hernia was acting up on him?
At age 45, he's as broken down and disabled by multiple addictions as that creepy homeless guy with the "golden voice" who couldn't last in rehab past a week.
Has American society become so degenerate that a morals clause in a TV contract is considered a quaint concept reminiscent of the 'I Love Lucy' era?
Yes, it has.
Look at this up-and-coming young train wreck:
She went from being an allegedly wholesome Disney star to a whiskey voiced, bong smoking, stripper pole humping slut in a matter of months.
When a minor is a multimillionaire with parents who peaked in the 80's, she becomes the chief breadwinner in the family. Who's gonna lay down the law to her, Billy Ray Cyrus? Not unless he plans to start making the mortgage payments, he won't. Her parents couldn't even object to her shacking up with her Aussie co-star before she turned 18.
Charlie Sheen and Miley Cyrus should be shunned and boycotted by the public until they get some psychiatric treatment and address their massive problems.
But what I think is driving all of this is the public's morbid fascination with impending doom. Who would be shocked if either of them OD'd and died?
We all know a fatality for either would be a ratings bonanza for celebrity gossip TV shows and tabloids.
News like that would lead the headlines, from network news to print media to the Internet. News of the unrest in Egypt would be completely eclipsed by either of them showing up dead somewhere.
How can anyone still be fans of these arrogant punks when we all know they are the nation's worst role models who operate totally outside the law?
Where's the wholesome family viewer outrage?
We have a morbid desire to watch celebrities burn out and croak.
I just wish they'd get on with it so we can move on to another topic of American tastelessness.
It makes me long for the days when 'I Love Lucy' wouldn't allow Lucy and Ricky to use the word "pregnant" when Lucy was expecting their son Desi Arnaz junior.
Even married couples had to use twin beds on the sitcoms of yesteryear, but with this new crowd, clearly anything goes.
The mystery to me is that anyone ever liked either of them to begin with.
What's your take on it?

Hard to muster up sympathy for someone making $1.25 million an episode- or a multimillionaire teen ager.
I think it has something to do with "hitting the top"... when someone becomes a wealthy superstar, it's too much to handle. Here you are seemingly "having it all"- but reality still happens.
You'd think they would be racking their brains on how they can dole out lots of this payola as philanthropic donations to worthy causes (if anything because they need a tax break)...
but instead I think superstars & very wealthy people find it lonely up there.
The paparazzi only encourage it by giving so much air time.
Maybe they should all hook up- Lindsey Lohan. Sheen, Miley etc & give them their own reality show called "Bad Soap Opera"? That way those who are interested can tune in & follow "the falling stars" as they bounce between prison, & rehab & their next encounter with the law.
these people would not be in the headlines if not for their penchant for breaking the law- which is not to be confused with "talent".
I am disgusted by the rise in a reality show such as Teen Mom - who has made something like half a million but seems to have no clause on taking some of that money for her child. I also wonder if the child is making anything in trust because if that train wreck child of a "mother" has anything to do with it, that money will be gone in about a week after her last paycheck. It makes me sick. /rant
I watched 2 1/2 Men once but only because I love Holland Taylor - the mother. The show is so misogynistic I never watched again. I don't watch Californication either because Dukovny is a perv in real life and he basically writes scripts to live out his pervy fantasies in front of an audience. Gross.
the thing that gets me is that neither of these people are particularly talented. you could replace either one of them with a few hundred who are better looking and more talented and who don't need therapy or rehab. neither one of them would have been famous if not for their famous fathers.
i used to watch 2 1/2 men, and it used to be funny. however, the best part of the show was holland taylor, and it got to where she was hardly ever seen. i agree with bigsis about californication, too. not only is it an excuse for duchovny to play out his sex fantasies in front of an audience, but the girl who plays his daughter gives me the creeps, and the rest of the cast is pretty obnoxious, too.
Isn't Charlie too freakin' old for that part? They try to make him look younger with the clothes and haircut but its not believable. That part could better be played by a younger and better actor. The people watching that show must also be immature geezers who want to believe they too can be old, addicted and still be major players.
And I don't even want to think about the relationship between Miley Ray and Billy Ray that made her so sexually precocious.
Gosh. Mylie gives us all hope... if we work very hard and have famous parents, we, too can have a bong fest (and other related fests...)
Oh, wait. I didn't have famous parents, etc., and I got to have a bong fest. Now there's opportunity for you.
God Bless America!
As to Charlie, those retro bowling shirts have the power to cloud men's minds.
That morbid fantasy is commensurate with the one the rightwingnuts have as they watch their antics drive the U.S. out of business.
And they can't (or don't want to) stop themselves.
Must be as fascinating as watching yourself disappear in the funhouse mirrors.

what I think is driving all of this is the public's morbid fascination with impending doom.
Hey, KZ, you make a very good point that some organization that prides itself on being prudes for cash hasn't organized a boycott of Two and A Half Men.
As I wrote on my gossip blog, Charlie's behavior has been the worst kept secret in Hollywood since Bill Clinton was president, but now the supermarket rags are asking "What went wrong?" and "Can his family save him?"
The real question is "Why is he still alive?"
Matty Boy hit the nail on the head -- how is this guy still alive? And I'm sure little Mylie will end up like LiLohan soon enough.
I have a soft spot in my heart for little LiLo. Sure she's a major screw-up with some serious addiction problems. But look at the treatment she gets from the press and the public in general, and compare that with the way Charlie Sheen is treated. She has way more talent than Sheen. Okay, that's not really saying much. But you get my point.
I don't think I've ever seen Miley Cyrus do anything and I can't remember the last time I watched Charlie Sheen and wanted more, so I'm unqualified to comment. But it is outrageous that it's been nearly two weeks without KZ!
Hope all is well with you and please come back soon!
with the news that this fucktard's show is off for the rest of the season I can only say that those who can least afford it will be hurt the most..namely the set workers who don't get paid if they don't work.
I hope Sheen falls into a deep pit and never gets the hell out of it.
