My youngest kitty Baby Jake was euthanized today by my kindly veterinarian.
He had rapid onset liver failure, and the vet saw no way to save him. I held him and petted him as she injected him with go-to-sleep meds.
Thirty seconds later, he was gone. She put his head on a little towel and covered him with a soft blue blanket after he had passed. I kissed his little head goodbye and the vet, her assistant and I hugged and cried.
Two years is not a long life, but he had a happy one filled with toys, two big brothers who always played gently with him, and a mama who loved him very much.
Godspeed, little man.

I am so sorry for your loss Karen. The loss of a pet is always very hard, harder than people in many ways. Their furry love for us is so capricious yet unconditional.

James and Nick, my other two kitties, slept right beside me last night because they were sad, too.
Cuz2's Ray Charles is her adorable blind puppy. He's all light cocoa color, his fur, nose, eyes, etc.
D-Cap was Baby Jake's godfather.

Oh, I am so sorry, Karen. Baby Jake was a very special little fellow and I am just glad that you both had each other for these past 2 years. Too short a life, certainly, but a happy one without a doubt. Rest in peace, Baby Jake. :'(

No kitty could have had a better life than baby Jake. I'm very sorry he's gone but I'm glad he's not suffering anymore.
I know you must have a million funny stories about that little character- he was a corker!
