Right back atcha, Zippy--spouse is off with 96 year old mother, and I'm here watching the birds flock to the feeder. Going upstairs in a minute to finish the shirt I'm making her, then we're going to spend the rest of the day learning to make tamales! I've always wanted to learn to make tamales.
It's our most un-Christmasy Christmas... no tree, since our aging dog now has 2 beds on the first floor, and there's no room for more stuff.
But stuff isn't the point this year. Just this quiet gratitude for someone singular to share life with, the love of good friends and the seasoning that our critters bring to the idea of home.
sigh!

Thanks D-Cap, it was absolutely perfect. We found out my sister-in-law is a fantastic cook but she hid it for 9 years, so now she's IT for the next 10 years.
